Jacob Millman, a member of both Venture Crew 312 and Boy Scout Troop 407, was presented the Eagle Scout Award on March 30 at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church.
Eagle Scout is the highest advancement ranking in Scouting. Since 1912, more than 2 million Boy Scouts have earned the coveted award.
Jacob, 14, also was presented with six Bronze Palms, five Gold Palms and five Silver Palms for all the merit badges he has earned past the 21 required for Eagle. He currently has more than 100 and plans to earn all of Scouting’s merit badges before he turns 18.
Jacob serves as a Den Chief for Cub Scout Pack 307, a Patrol Leader for Troop 407 and as Vice President of Communications for the Indian Waters Council Venturing Officers Association.He earned his Venturing Award in June of 2018.
For his Eagle project, Jacob led a group of Scouts and Venturers to make sensory kits for autistic students in schools in the Lexington District 1 system.
Also participating in the ceremony was his sister, Reagan Millman, an assistant senior patrol leader at Troop 425, who delivered the invocation and benediction.
Jacob honored his grandparents in the ceremony, Edward and Debra Millman, and David and Margaret Allen.He is the son of Kendra and Jason Millman of Lexington.
